An achromatic lens or Achromat is a lens that is created for the purpose of limiting the consequences of lens(chromatic and spherical) aberration. Achromatic lenses are adjusted to attract two wavelengths to concentrate in the same plane.

What's a chromatic aberration?

Chromatic aberration, also Called chromatic distortion and spherochromatism, is a result caused from dispersion as a result of failure of a lens to focus all colors to the identical convergence point.
