The Managing Director of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), Engr. Peter Ewesor has resumed for another four year term in office, the Daily Trust reports.<br>Engr. Ewesor who is the pioneer Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation (CEIF) under the former Electricity Management Services Limited (EMSL) now NEMSA, had his appointment renewed by President Muhammadu Buhari last week.<br><br><br>He told the Daily Trust yesterday that he resumed official duty since at the NEMSA headquarters in Abuja after the Head, Technical Standards and Inspectorate Services, Engr. Tukur Aliyu held brief for about a month after the management tenure expiration.<br>Meanwhile, the Nigeria Consumer Protection Network (NCPN) has lauded the federal government’s reappointment of Ewesor. President of the network, Barrister Kunle Kola Olubiyo described the reappointment as a compensation for integrity, hard work, competence, expertise and patriotism.<br>He said the re-appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari led Government was strictly based on merits using global benchmark of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). It has further demonstrated the proven commitments of the President to integrity.<br>Speaking on behalf of other members of the network, Olubiyo enjoined the government not to relent in its efforts in closing the huge metering gaps and consolidate on the gains so far recorded in the power sector especially in reviewing the privatisation.<br>He noted that issues that caused the over N500 billion liquidity challenge in the electricity market must be addressed at once.<br>"To make the review work, government should bring the parties to the table and iron out the issues. History was made at the just concluded Lawyers Table Tennis Open, also known as Mfon Usoro Cup, as Yetunde Martins knocked off seven time winner of the competition, Titilayo Osagie to win women category of the tournament.<br><br><br>Martins, who had always come out second best against her Ikeja Bar compatriot, Titilayo, dug in deep in the final set to win a tense affair at the National Stadium, Lagos.<br><br><br>Speaking on the tournament, its patron, Mfon Usoro said the competition is aimed at encouraging healthy living with good progress witnessed yearly.<br><br><br>"We started this competition to encourage Lawyers to imbibe healthy living and sportsmanship. It’s quite delightful to see a new winner in the female category. It’s a demonstration of the progress made by Martins and the tournament as a whole," she said.<br><br><br>National Welfare Secretary of the NBA, Barrister Adesina Adegbite, who was also at the event, commended the participants and the organizers for the initiative. History was made at the just concluded Lawyers Table Tennis Open, also known as Mfon Usoro Cup, as Yetunde Martins knocked off seven time winner of the competition, Titilayo Osagie to win women category of the tournament.


Martins, who had always come out second best against her Ikeja Bar compatriot, Titilayo, dug in deep in the final set to win a tense affair at the National Stadium, Lagos.


Speaking on the tournament, its patron, Mfon Usoro said the competition is aimed at encouraging healthy living with good progress witnessed yearly.


"We started this competition to encourage Lawyers to imbibe healthy living and sportsmanship. It’s quite delightful to see a new winner in the female category. It’s a demonstration of the progress made by Martins and the tournament as a whole," she said.


National Welfare Secretary of the NBA, Barrister Adesina Adegbite, who was also at the event, commended the participants and the organizers for the initiative. He also pledged to drum support for the sporting event at the national level of the NBA to ensure that its profile is further raised.


"I congratulate everyone, who has participated here today. It’s was quite interesting and refreshing to see Lawyers do sports. I’d like to thank the organizers for their consistency in doing this yearly. I’ll embark on a personal drive to drum support for this initiative at the national level of the NBA.
